Inspired By My Mothers Life
My mother lost her father at a very young age, due to natural reasons, my grandmother had to marry elsewhere. My mother grew up in her aunt’s house. aunt died too, my mother was getting alone, there was no shelter in the maternal family . My mother sometimes gets upset due to family tensions,I understand that since my father’s house does not exist, there is no place to go. Since we do not have a sister, there is no alternative arrangement.
There is no opportunity to go anywhere to spend time. There is no opportunity, there is no place to spend a day outside her husband’s house to reminisce about childhood memories.
The subject hits me deeply.
There are countless women like my mother in this society, there are also men. It occurred to me to resort to such silent- common- family complications that their health is deteriorating. Compassion Stay: Respite & Reunion Project Plan
This project aims to provide a temporary, nurturing environment for elderly people(60+) per session, focusing on emotional well- being and social connection.
Phase 1: Foundation and Legal Setup

( Identify and secure a suitable location. Needs to be accessible, safe, and large enough to comfortably accommodate elderly guests and staff. Must meet safety and accessibility codes.)
Phase 2: Operational Framework & Staffing
2.1 Staff Recruitment, Hire essential personnel:
Project Coordinator, Caregivers/ Nurses ( at least 1:10 ratio for safety), Counsellors/ Psychologists ( essential for emotional support), Cultural Staff, Cooks, and Maintenance/ Security. Fully Vetted& Trained.
2.2 Program Design:
Design the 3/4 days stay schedule. Focus on: Emotional Support( group therapy, one- on- one counseling), Engagement ( yoga, meditation, light crafts, storytelling), and Nourishment( balanced, elder- friendly meals).
2.3 Rules & Policies
Establish clear policies for guest eligibility ( age 60+, lack of familial support, unable to afford alternatives), check- in/ check- out, medical emergencies, and confidentiality.

Phase 3: Launch and Execution
3.1 Guest Outreach program
Partner with local social workers, hospitals, community centers, and religious organizations to identify and refer eligible seniors. Use local media & Active Referral Network.
3.2 Pilot Program
- Run a smaller, controlled pilot stay(e.g. about 20 guests for 2 days) to test all systems, staff preparedness, and the program schedule. Pilot Program Feedback& Review Report.
3.3 Full Launch- Begin accepting the maximum capacity of (10 to 20) guests for the full 3-4d ay program. Stagger sessions (e. g., every two weeks) to allow for cleaning and staff rest. First Full Session Completion.
Phase 4: Monitoring and Sustainability
4.1 Feedback& Evaluation:
Collecting anonymous feedback from guests and staff after every session. Assess the program’s effectiveness in reducing feelings of isolation/ sadness. Quarterly Impact Assessment Reporting.
4.2 Follow- up Care:
Establishing a system for post- stay check- ins(e. g.,a weekly phone call) and resources (e. g., list of free local support groups) to ensure the positive effects last beyond th

Social Connection: Facilitate the building of new, meaningful friendships between the guests.
Dignity & Respect: Every activity and interaction should reinforce the guest’s value and worth.
Therapeutic Release: Provide a safe space for guests to openly share their feelings of hurt or alienation without judgment.
